Ciao for now.

I have never been more nervous in my life than when I arrived in Italy on Tuesday the 17th. Thankfully, we made it to Italy from Toronto with very few complications and the transition period is still underway. The weather is, as the Italians say, bellissma, and the the food is "molto buon". The people are mysterious and cordial, and I don't even have to mention that they are very well dressed. Other than making the mistake of buying a slice of pizza with anchovies on it, every experience has been amazing.

But, the experience of meeting my host property was frankly terrifying. I became even more scared when I found out the the owner knows no English and my Italian only extends to use verbs in the present tense. When I finally met and spoke to the owner, it was a familiar experience. It felt like I was 6 years old again and forced to learn English. It reminded me that it is okay to be scared and clueless, because if first grade Sanja could do it, certainly 20 year old Sanja can do this.
