The beginning of the end

Its hard to believe that we have exactly one week left in this beautiful city. This past weekend was our last week of work and I am truly going to miss Reale Firenze and the incredible people I worked with!

We started this week off at Gelateria Baronchini, which is where Sanja did her internship this summer. We learned how to make gelato and got to taste many flavors!! It was so interesting to see how the flavors were made.

After the gelateria, Garrett, Sanja, Francesca and I celebrated at the beach. We had never been to Marina di Pisa and really had not heard anything about it but we found it on google and because it was so close, decided to go! It was beautiful. The "beach" was filled with rocks, not sand but we got used to it and enjoyed the sun and wind which helped us stay cool.

On Tuesday we visited a winery named Principe Corsini. It was a short bus ride from Florence and we enjoyed a tour and then a delicious lunch. The winery was beautiful and I loved seeing how the olive oil and wine are made.

We had our farewell dinner Tuesday night with Nicoletta and I am going to miss her so much! She has been so helpful and kind to us during these past 8 weeks. She will be visiting Kent in September and I already cant wait to see her!
