Until next time!
Living in Florence has been one of the most amazing experiences in my entire life. It is hard to believe that I am heading back to Ohio and back to my regular routine. With that said, our last week has been one for the books. At the beginning of the week, we were invited to Gelataria Baroncini so show how gelato was made. It is very cool how fresh gelato is and how delicious it is. Ice cream with never be the same again because gelato is one thousand times better. The next day, we visited a winery in Tuscany and were treated to a four course lunch. Later that evening, we had our last family dinner with Nicoletta and ended up having a three course dinner. I probably ended up eating more in that single day than I had in the last week, and that is not an exaggeration. Nicoletta has been wonderful to all of us and we will miss her like crazy. Luckily she will be in Kent in September!
The highlight of the week was by far the trip to Ibiza, Spain. The city was amazingly beautiful, the waters were clear and bright blue, the weather was perfect, and the activities were a blast. We all ended up going on a boat cruise for the majority of the day. Being on a boat with people from around the world was exhilarating and we made a lot of new friends. I particularly made friends with a girl with some silly platform shoes! A highlight of the cruise was stopping in the middle of the ocean and swimming with everyone. Aside from the water being extremely salty and burning my eyes, it was breathtaking. Later that evening, I had the opportunity to see one of the worlds top DJ's, Armin van Buuren, preform live. I am an avid follower of electronic music so this experience was amazing as well.
Alas, our final nights have arrived and the tears are hard to hold back. Even though I may be super broke, these are two months I will never forget. I have made relationships with some amazing people that I will never forget and I have experienced some unbelievable things. Since I graduate in less than a month, this was the perfect cherry on top of an incredible time at Kent State. Let the next chapter in my life begin!
