Piano piano
Piano piano (or little by little) has summed up my experiences in the last week. As we began working at Eataly, we did not know what to expect. Our main concern on the first day was that we would not be able to understand any Italian speaking customers, and we were right. Despite this, our managers at Eataly have been finding productive ways to benefit the company without having to use excessive Italian. Throughout the course of the week we have been doing things like translating menus to English, promoting the recent beer festival, assisting English speaking tourists in the restaurant and market, and marketing the company on Instagram and Facebook. Although we are not quite used to the vastly different hospitality culture in Italy, our experience is growing little by little. Aside from work, we have mainly been exploring the various entertainment outlets in Florence. We also took a couple trips during our off days. One voyage to Milan, and another to Cinque Terre. I miss a few things back home, but as of right now I never want to leave !
