There's no place like home
There's no place like home, meaning I have finally gotten used to calling Florence my home. However the statement is ironic because there are so many daily activities I do here that I don't do back in Ohio. For example, I have a coffee product everyday, whether it be an espresso, cappuccino, or a latte. I used to never drink coffee and now it's hard for me to not. Also, I go to the market more than once a week. With my motivation being how fresh the food is, I have cooked a plentiful amount of meals from scratch in the last week. It is still crazy to believe that our experience isn't even halfway over, because it feels like we've done so much. Work isn't dragging along like it used to because most of the time we are still doing productive, beneficial projects for the company that bypass the language barrier. I only say most of the time because sometimes I feel completely useless when I have to "speak" Italian. One interesting event we held this week was a marketing promotion at a hotel outside of Florence. Over the weekend, there was a 12 and under football tournament that we sponsored and we reached out to the traveling teams at the hotel most of them stayed at. What really blew my mind was that these were the youth teams of nationally known clubs such as Chelsea FC and Inter Milan. Although the day dragged on because we were limited in what to do, it was still incredible knowing that Eataly and each football club can each share their passions with one another. Aside from work, this week I mostly spent exploring Florence, getting to know the city better. I slowly begin to appreciate it more and I indulge on the history it has. I'm excited for the next couple of weeks because I have a lot of exciting things in store. Also, the picture above is the only nice day we've had all week. It's been raining more here than it usually does in Ohio............
