Roma!

This week, Lindsey, Sanja, Lois and I visited Rome for two days. We planned an itinerary and it worked out so well! Rome is a very large city and there is so much to do, we wanted to make sure we did not miss anything! The first day, we visited The Vatican and St. Peter's Square. The Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums are beautiful and pictures do not do any justice. We also went to Castel Sant'Angelo and the views of Rome are indescribable.

Before going, my mom had told me that the Pope would be speaking while we were there and so we did some research on how to get into the speech, got our tickets and were pretty close to the pope!! Definitely one of the best moments I've ever experienced. The atmosphere in St. Peter's Square watching the Pope drive around the crowd was amazing. Definitely something I will never forget.

After listening to the Popes speech, we went and saw the big sites of Rome. These included the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, Pantheon, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps (closed due to renovation) and more. We had a great lunch in the Jewish Ghetto and headed back to Florence.

On Thursday, together as a class we went to Eataly and learned how to make pizza. All the ingredients used in Eataly's pizzas can be bought in the store. I found that most interesting because the pizzas were delicious and you it can be made in the comfort of your home!
