Italia vince il primo gioco!
This week has been a kind of slow week thus far. It's currently mens fashion week in Florence. This meant many of our guest were designers, media people, and buyers. Most of our fashion week guest had a bunch of invitations to different events and free gifts constantly being dropped of and I helped with this by delivering them to each room as soon as possible. It was hectic at fist as they all checked in but throughout their stays they were gone most of the day and the hotel was quiet.
The Euro Cup is the biggest soccer competition in Europe other than the world cup. All of the best teams representing different countries come together and play in hopes to become champions and win the cup. We are fortunate to be living in Europe during this time. I was attempting to make it to a game but I was unable to make a trip work. I was lucky enough to experience the next best way. Monday evening Italy played Belgium. The game was being shown on a big screen in a park along the Arno river and we were invited by a few locals that Liz, Sanja, and Brian became friends with.
The park was filled with fans of all ages sitting at tables, on benches, on curbs or where ever they were able to sit. There were vendors selling different types of foods and drinks at the event. I personally really like soccer and this was a great way to experience a game like I have not before. I had a great time watching the game and celebrating with the locals after we won the our first game of the tournament! Unfortunately my battery died on my phone before I was able to get more than one photo.
