Pushing Forward
This week was a very uneventful one for me work wise. I got sick again so did not work much and mostly stayed around the house. Gelato has been making my throat feel better (though I never need an excuse to eat gelato) and I have been trying such amazing flavors lately such as yogurt with nuts and honey, ricotta with figs and almonds, and blood orange with ginger. However, once I felt better I was able to do a little exploring. I spent a lot of time at Piazzale Michelangelo. It is a bit of a climb but the view is worth it every time. I climbed up with a friend who came to visit and enjoyed some wine, cheese, and fresh Italian bread on the steps while looking at view. I went back again later this week. I also revisited the Boboli Gardens at Pitti’s Palace. I have now spent a total of two and a half hours in that garden and still have not seen all of it. Another cool thing that I got to do this week was watch the soccer game between Italy and Belgium. My new Italian friends took me to an outside viewing area on the Arno river with a big projector. It was so fun to be with everyone who gathered to watch the game. Best of all, we won!
