Florence isn't flooding!!!!
To begin this blog post I would like to say congrats to the Cavs on winning the 2016 NBA title. Even though I didn't get to watch it with anyone due to a mild sickness, I still was excited watching in the comfort of my bedroom....at 5 in the morning. But it is extremely relieving to say that it finally stopped raining a ton in Florence and the weather is beautiful consistently! I would much rather it be 90 degrees and hot than 70 degrees and rainy any day. Earlier in the week we visited Palazzo Medici. Indulging on the Renaissance history in Florence is very interesting and it was cool to see the many artifacts in the building. Also Liz, Steph, and I went to the town of Castiglioncello to enjoy the beautiful weather on the beach. Compared to Monterosso, Castiglioncello was a lot less touristy and more relaxed. There was not nearly as much to do but it was nice to spend the whole day by the sea. I have a personal and nostalgic connection by the water because many of my greatest childhood memories occurred at a seaside town of some sort. So journeying seaside in Italy is not only gorgeous, but it also makes me feel like a kid again. However, I am paying the price of not putting any sunscreen on and also falling asleep laying on the beach. I currently have the worst sunburn, quite possibly the worst I have ever had. For the day after the beach I was planning on traveling to Siena or Arrezzo but my sunburn hindered me motionless and defeated. Work on the other hand has kind of been a drag this week, due to the many events in Florence this week and the store being slow.
Our time in Florence is flying by so fast. I cannot believe we only have 2 more weeks. A majority of us are leaving for Amsterdam next week so I am very ecstatic for that. I am definitely making the best out of the rest of this trip with the time we have left and the friends I won't forget.
