Week of Relaxing

The past couple weeks I have been traveling around Europe. This week I decided to relax around Florence since I had not really walked around since being here. One interesting event that happened this week was PRIDE in Italy. We were on our way to work and ended up having to walk in the PRIDE parade to get work. It was a really neat experience because gay marriage just became legal a couple weeks ago here in Italy. I tried to go see the David but the wait was three hours to go into the museum. Instead I went to Medici Chapel which is a sanctuary where all the bone and bodies of the Medici family. The Medici ruled over Florence in the first half of the 15th century. It was really neat to see the tombs of this royal family and learn the history about them. Being able to have time to actually walk around Florence and learn history of this amazing city was a nice break from all the traveling I have done and plan to do. I cannot wait to go see the David and other historical items.
