Jam Packed Week
This week was great. It was full of new, eye opening experiences. The weekend was very hot so I spent a majority of it trying to stay cool.
This week we participated in a food tasting at Eataly and it was great. We tried two different olive oils, two balsamic, three cheeses, two honeys, and five jams and two different types of meats. It was great. I throughly enjoyed learning what types of foods pair well together and eating the high quality items.
After the food tasting Lindsay and I traveled to a co-worker's home for dinner. She had invited us to show us what a real Italian family dinner was like. We started our dinner with a few snacks and drinks on the terrace. We then moved inside for dinner and we were able to see Italy beat Spain in the Euro Cup. It was a great experience seeing an amazing win with an Italian family. We then had a five course dinner. All the food was great. The dinner was filled with discussion, laughing and learning. This has been one of my favorite experiences while in Italy.
Tuesday all of us except Frana and Lindsay traveled to Amsterdam. It was the first time traveling to the Netherlands and it was amazing. I discovered that the Netherlands are very similar to the United States in a few different aspects such as open space and modernism. We spent our days going to museums, visiting different attractions and great food. I'm glad I was able to experience it with the group.
