The week of Amsterdam

After a week of relaxing in Florence, I got to go the Netherlands. More specifically, I went to Amsterdam. I remember sitting in a tourism class at one of my old schools and the teacher talking about Amsterdam. I immediately thought "some day I want to go to Amsterdam and see all these things". Well, this week I finally got that chance, and I loved every minute of it. The city of Amsterdam still has the old time feeling but looking around, things are more modern. We got to see the Van Gogh Museum, The I Amsterdam Sign, where I got to "Fly High" in Amsterdam (See Image below), the Anne Frank House, toured of the Heineken Brewery, and got to go on a boat cruise and learn about the history of Amsterdam. The Van Gogh Museum was my favorite thing because he is my favorite artist and I have always studied his work. The museum if four stories high and was organized from his earliest work all the way until his final days. It was really neat to see all his paintings including the last one he ever painted, as long with all the history of his life. The museum also had the love letters he was known for writing while he was away. Amsterdam is filled with many museums and so much history that I feel a lot of people do not know about. I hope one day I will be able to go back to Amsterdam and experience more of the history this town has to offer!
